This winter, I'm at your disposal

Hi everyone—thanks again for joining this little email list, which I've updated to include the disclaimer: I won't waste your time or abuse your attention. Pinky swear!

This winter, while I bounce around Europe and dance my booty off, I'm available for remote coaching and consulting gigs! I’ve done lots of these over the years, including:

  • designing connection games for groups, events, and trainings
  • one-on-one education coaching teenagers and young adults, especially those struggling with self-directed learning
  • speaking and running workshops for parent groups (did you know I keynoted the 2026 Davidson Summit for profoundly gifted kids?)
  • helping educators and entrepreneurs assemble their own teen travel programs (akin to Unschool Adventures)

The best part is: I realllllly enjoy this work. It isn't a "Shrug, I guess I need money" thing. (Although while Unschool Adventures is paused, I probably should think about money... 🤷🏻‍♂️) I'm often too focused on writing a book or cycling across a continent to put myself out there. Now that I've got a bit more time and space, I'm putting myself out there 💁🏼‍♂️

Drop me a line (blakeboles@gmail.com) to discuss possibilities, anytime. Depending on the gig, my rates run between $75 (30-min consult) to $400 (bespoke online workshop). I don't do pro bono, but I try hard to work with anyone who wants to work with me.

What happened to connection game calls?

This summer I offered donation-based video calls in which I shared my favorite group connection games. Those were tons of fun, but scheduling was a nightmare — Europe, America, Australia, oh my! — and fewer people were joining as time went on.

My guess is that, while many people appreciate the game recordings (nine are up), not enough people really "needed" the live calls. So be it. I can take feedback 💅🏼

So for now I'm offering private consultations for connection games. Below are a few nice things people have said about working with me in this capacity, followed by pictures from my recent weeks in the UK.

Thanks for reading, considering, and caring,

“Blake’s games are sometimes hilarious, sometimes deep, and always made room for people to show more vulnerable sides of themselves. When I need help planning my birthday, he picked games that fit the size of the group, the kind of people coming, and the time we had, and it worked beautifully: the group was playful and genuinely connected.”

Calling them ‘games’ feels like a major undersell of the value Blake’s treasure trove delivers. These exercises now start every onsite activity with my teams and have been a major contributor to relationship building and ultimately more effective work.”
—BL (Project Manager for a prominent tech company)
“Blake and his games came into our center like a whirlwind of influence, helping our youngest see our space differently, our teens see each other differently, and our staff see our potential for connection differently.”
—Christian (Staff at Macomber Center for Self-Directed Learning)
